SUMMARY:Focus Group: The Badge Scheme
DESCRIPTION:The Equality\, Local Government and Communities Committee is currently looking at how the Blue Badge Scheme operates in Wales\, and they want to hear from you! \nThe Blue Badge Scheme provides a national arrangement of parking concessions for disabled people. In Wales\, the Welsh Government is responsible for the Scheme\, but it is administered by individual local authorities who issue the badges.  \nThe Committee is looking carefully at a number of different aspects – the impact of extending the eligibility criteria for a Blue Badge in Wales\, the support and information available to Blue Badge applicants\, and how different local authority areas deal with assessments\, fees and enforcement. \nWe would love to hear from you.  Your voice matters and can influence the work of the Committee and the recommendations it makes to the Welsh Government. We would like to invite you to take part in a focus group. \nWe would like to hear from people who have; recently renewed or applied for a blue badge\, have lost their blue badge\, people not receiving PIP (Personal Independence Payment) who have tried to apply for a badge  and temporary blue badge holders.  \nIf you would like to come along to the focus group\, or have any questions\, please e-mail Ruth.nortey@disabilitywales.org. \n  \nplease find below the link to our online survey on the Welsh Blue Badge Scheme. \nWe realise that many people will not be able to attend the focus group and we would be grateful if you could take the time to complete the short survey and tell us your thoughts and experiences on the current Blue Badge Scheme in Wales and how the system could be improved.  \nYou can access the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/JPDPFPP
