SUMMARY:Early Years & Health -  what does good health mean for  young children in Wales?
DESCRIPTION:Nothing is more important than our children’s health and every child in Wales has the right to be healthy – so what needs to be in place to ensure that this is made a reality?  \nChildren in Wales is hosting a conference to explore the many strands of work that challenge health practitioners and parents of young children in Wales today.  A range of experts will explore issues in relation to health and well-being\, unintentional injuries\, perinatal and mental health services and environmental issues. \nKaren McFarlane\, previously of Children in Wales and a renowned expert in child safety\, will chair the conference and confirmed speakers to date include: \n\nLiz Western\, Senior Public Health Officer\, Hywel Dda Public Health Team\, Public Health Wales will highlight the work of the Healthy Pre-School Scheme and how it has been accredited and rolled-out across Wales\nDr Sarah J Jones\, Consultant in Environmental Health Protection\, Health Protection Team\, Public Health Wales will focus on the field of unintentional harm and injuries to children and young people in Wales\nJane O’Kane\, Professional Head of Health Visiting\, Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board – what’s new in the field and services undertaken in Flying Start areas\nBeverley Heatman\, Child Death Review (CDR) Programme Manager – how can practice influence/affect the work of the CDR Board and what do people on the ground do with the information that’s gathered?\n\nFor further details and to reserve your place\, please visit www.childreninwales.org.uk/events \nExhibition opportunities will also be available at the conference and to reserve a space please send an email to: membership@childreninwales.org.uk \nCOST:      Members £95              Non-members £130 \nCOST FOR AN EXHIBITION SPACE: £50 (in addition to the delegate fee)
