DESCRIPTION:This is an introductory level course for support staff\, care workers\, volunteers and family who are supporting older people who may have dementia. \n   \nDuring this course you will cover areas such as: \n – The ageing process   – Why do we age? – What is Dementia? – Types of Dementia? – Stages of the process of Dementia – Detecting the signs of Dementia & Diagnosis – What can we do to help a person with Dementia? – Activity\, predictability & environment    – Communication Mental Capacity – Challenges\, crises and planning ahead \n  \nConfidentiality is assured at all times and you do not have to take part in any of the exercises if you do not wish. \n
