SUMMARY:C3SC Training: Governing your Organisation
DESCRIPTION:This course aims to enable participants to understand good governance and the systems by which organisations are run. Governance is the systems and processes which ensure the overall direction\, effectiveness\, supervision and accountability of your organisation – it is crucial for the effective management of any third sector organisation. \nOn this course you will explore the principles of good governance\, consider how your organisation measures up to them\, and explore the systems and the codes of practice you need to put in place to demonstrate you are a good and effective voluntary organisation. \nBy the end of the session\, participants will: \n\nexplore the concept and principles of governance\nunderstand the purpose and uses of your ‘governing instrument’ (your constitution or rules)\nunderstand the difference between governance and management\nhave an overview of good practice in trustee recruitment\n\n\nhave considered the Trustee’s relationship with paid staff including the Chief Officer\nexplore the importance of Nolan principles and Trustee codes of conduct\nunderstand the roles of Sub-committees and executive committees\nunderstand the role of AGMs and other membership meetings\n\nIdeal for: Trustees\, potential trustees and staff working with them \nBook online \nAlternatively\, email training@c3sc.org.uk or call us on (029) 2048 5722.
